Centenary Celebration

A centenary of breeding at Quamby Plains Corriedales was celebrated with record prices at the stud's ram sale on November 20th 2017.

The sale group were an outstanding draught of young rams. Very even, with strong constitution, excellent shape and good hind quarters. The
wool was bright and soft, and the rams had strong clean heads.

The finer micron rams were a feature of the sale with micron down to 21.5. There was also very keen interest in Gold Mark Rams, with a top
Gold Mark ram topping the sale. Thus showing buyers are progressively becoming interested in Performance recording of Corriedales.

A large crowd of interstate and local buyers purchased the sale average to a new high of $1732. Top price on the day was $3600, paid by Wally
Jenkins of South Australia. The sale saw almost a complete clearance with 37 out of 40 sold. Kuranda from Woodbury, TAS, purchased four rams
topping at $3400 and Bowood Pastural, Bridport, purchased three to $3200.

Ballak Farming in Victoria is a regular at the sale and this time took home four rams to a top of $2300. Salamanca Pastoral in Victoria took home
two rams to $2400. Volume buyer on the day was Native Point, Perth, buying seven rams to $1700.
